The film became a superhit at the box office. This was Nasir Hussain's second production, the first being Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai. He also wrote and directed it. It starred Joy Mukherjee and the Nasir Hussain fixture Asha Parekh. Pran played the villain in the film and Rajindernath had a supporting role in it.This Nasir Hussain film had O.P. Nayyar as the music director, who had previously composed Hussain's Tumsa Nahin Dekha (1957). Majrooh Sultanpuri was the lyricist.This film included many superhit songs like the classic Dekho Bijli Dole Bin Badal Ki sung by Asha Bhosle&Usha Mangeshkar and Mujhe Pyar Mein sung by Asha Bhosle.JOY MUKHERJEEJoy Mukherjee (Bengali:) is an Indian film actor.Joy Mukherjee is the son of Sashadhar Mukherjee and Sati Devi. His father was a successful producer and a co-founder of Filmistan Studios. His paternal uncle is director Subodh Mukherjee, whilst his maternal uncles were Ashok Kumar and Kishore Kumar. His brothers are Deb Mukherjee and Shomu Mukherjee who was married to actress Tanuja. Their daughters are actresses Kajol and Tanisha. His niece is Rani Mukerji.Joy was paired up with Sadhana in the film Love in Simla (1960) directed by R.K. Nayyar. After this he paired up with Asha Parekh for several hits like Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon and Ziddi. In the late 60's roles for Joy started drying up as stars such as Dharmendra, Jeetendra and Rajesh Khanna grew in popularity.Joy then produced and directed Humsaaya but the movie did not do well and his subsequent films as producer or director did not do too well. Despite a late success with home production Ek Baar Muskura Do (1972) with brother Deb Mukherjee and later to be sister-in-law Tanuja, Joy faded from the film scene. His last success came with him directing Chailla Babu, a film starring Zeenat Aman and Rajesh Khanna.
